I am married

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Well in case you haven't heard I got married on the weekend to the very beautiful Claire. We actually got engaged back in August (when we were in Vegas) but never told anyone - with the eventual view to have a surprise wedding - and what a wedding it turned out to be!

Using the cover that I was organising a surprise birthday for Claire I got everyone on a boat and took them over to the Applecross Jetty - where to their surprise Claire was waiting in her dress on the jetty with her dad.

We had the most fantastic day which turned out to be way better than expected and was so, so much fun and so memorable.

You can read all about it on our wedding site http://clintandclaire.weddinginabox.com.au

What is Clinton up to?

Friday, May 23, 2008

For anyone who randomly visits this site, you will notice that it no longer gets updated with the frequency it used to. In a bid to make this site more up to date with what I am up to, I am looking to start to get information from a number of sources and publish my activities also using this.

One such application I use is Twitter, which enables me to send updates via the web or SMS as to what I am doing (my thoughts, activities, ponderings etc) and as such you will notice to the left there is a section 'My Twitterings', which will change all the time as I update Twitter.

Betting week 5

Friday, April 25, 2008

Well to start with, last week didn't end up so good. A draw in the AFL and Man U going down in an upset meant for the first time I lost money on a weekend, and ended up $12 down for the weekend. I will post results later...

Moving forward I have put a stack of bets on this weekend!

IN the AFL at $4.85 I have $5 on Freo. At $4 I have $5 on West Coast. And Saints at $2.30 was too good a bargain to pass up for $5. I have also perserveered and put $3 on Buddy to kick the most goals at $4.25, while I put my 4 pick on Coll-Geel-Adel-WC for $2 at 12.5 to 1.

A huge week in the premier league so have put some money down there. I have $5 on the Man U Chelsea draw at $3.20, for the same odds I have $5 on Middlesborough for a win over Sunderland and another $5 on Liverpool at $2.45. I whacked $10 on Arsenal at $1.27 which should be a breeze, and finally put $3 on Ronaldo to be the first scorer in the blockbuster (at 6/1) as well as $5 that there will be at least 3 goals at for odds of 2.3/1!

Tips for the weekend starting April 17

Saturday, April 19, 2008

Well I am a bit late to submit my bets for the week, but early on the bets I have placed have already gone well. Chelsea won on Thursday night (which I had $10 on at 2/1) and then last night with the start of the IPL I had $10 on the Knight Riders (at $1.72) which also came in.

So to the Premier League and Man U at $1.60 seem like a good bet for this weekend for $10, and I have put another $10 on Arsenal at a low $1.31.

To the AFL and for my pick 4 I have gone for Saints, Geelong, Freo and Hawks which was paying a healthy $8.10 (so I have $3 there) and another $1 on Judd to get the most possessions at $13. Finally I have put $10 on the Eagles who are paying $2.17 at home against a team that has not won a game yet!

Betting results week 4

Thursday, April 17, 2008

Well another week down, and another week up. Though only made $10 this week, so wasn't as lucrative as of late. Probably didn't help that I had a couple of late betting splurges. I put $5 on Big Bad Barry to get 6 weeks or less at $1.90 which didn't come in (but I'm not upset about that. Chelsea also didn't come in, but likewise I am happy to lose money on them as that opens the door for Chelsea.

On the plus I put $2 on Richmond at 5.5/1 which brought me in a nice $11. Plus my four pick of favourites came in, along with Man United and Man City.

Results

Bet: $40
Won: $50
Net: +$10
Net Total: +$110

Chelsea are playing tonight so have another $10 on them at $2.10 which isn't too bad and will be part of next weekends winnings should they come in.

Predictions - Week 4

Friday, April 11, 2008

Its pretty lopsided in the AFL betting and no real stand out bets for me. For my four pick I have gone WB-Kang-Geel-WC at $11.80 for $3 and WB-Kang-Geel-Syd at $3.30 for $5 - hopefully if the first three can get in, then I have hedged my bets on the West Coast game... Though I don't hold high hopes for the Coasters but with big odds I have still put $5 on WCE at $4.35 as I still don't think Swans are that great either. Finally I have put 2 bucks on Buddy to kick the most goals for the round (for a bit of fun) as that is paying $6.

Updated: Have also decided to plunge a huge $3 on Essendon tonight at $3.30 as I wouldn't make Friday nights viewing a little more exciting. And with Embley out of the Eagles, I now regret any betting to do with the WCE, so I would NOT recommend betting on them.

In the premier league Man United are back at home against Arsenal, though I can't see them dropping another game so am backing $10 on them at $1.90. Chelsea are $1.25 against Wigan, but its still worth putting $10 on them as that should be a gimme. Finally I think $3.45 isn't a bad price for Man City against an in form Sunderland, so am putting $5 there.

Sportsbet Betting Results week 3

Thursday, April 10, 2008

Another week down and another week up in terms of betting.
I ended up topping up my bet on Melbourne to include another $5 on Geelong by 1-39 which was paying $4.25 and a $5 bet on Port Adelaide to win. With Melbourne losing by less than 39 points, it meant I ended up getting over $60 back on this game, which made up well and truly for my other AFL losses.

In terms of the premier league Chelsea brought me in some cash, and luckily I didn't back Man United too strongly after they drew their game.

So at the end of the weekend I still ended about $20 up.

Bet: $50
Won: $70> Net: +$20> Total to date: +$100>

Predictions for weekend 5/6 April

Thursday, April 03, 2008

Well this week all the talk about betting should be around Melbourne Vs Geelong. Currently they are giving 21/1 odds on Melbourne. For even money they are giving Geelong a 70 point head start. These odds are just too good to be true, so I have put a couple of bucks on the win (cause this really isn't going to happen), but have put down $20 on the 70 point head start, as that is a BIG ask for Geelong.

In other footy betting I am backing $10 on West Coast at 2/1, while my 4 pick for the week is for StK-Haw-Freo-Ess at $6.40.

Finally in the premier league I have put $7 on Chelsea for a win at a respectable $1.75, and with my final $1 for the week have put it down for Man United to win 2-1 against Middlesborough at 8/1.

Now I'll wait and see on the early results to see if I back Chelsea in with some more money...

SportsBet Week 2 results

Thursday, April 03, 2008

Week 2, and had some mixed fortunes. The Premier league was alot kinder than the AFL, but still endup up. As all my betting was over by Sunday, I also ended up putting on a few more bets, which more or less ended up cancelling each other out. I had a double on Geelong and Richmond at $2.73 for $5 bet which didn't come in after a dissappointing Richmond, though I did put $20 on Chelsea at $1.31 to win which covered the earlier bet after they came in (just).

So in the end, I am now up a total of $79 with a summary of the weekends bets below...

Week 2 results

Bet: $115
Won: $130 (+$60 from Sportsbet loan)
Net result: +$15
Total to date: +$80

Predictions for weekend 29/30 March

Friday, March 28, 2008
With a tough week in the AFL, this week my attention turned to the premier league. I believe while Arsenal have been in a form slump, $1.73 for an Arsenal win is a good buy, so have wagered $15 on them for a win. From signing up to SportsBet, I also have a 'free' $60 bet to use, so have decided to use this to bet on Manchester United at home. They have been in sparkling touch, and whilst it is only paying $1.33, I'd say its pretty close to a sure thing.

In the AFL with my 'Pick 4' I have decided to wager it on Bris-WB-WC-StK. It is paying $6.15 which isn't too bad, but as I'm not oozing confidence, I have decided to just put the $5 on this bet. Finally I have put a few head to head bets - $5 on Hawks at 2/1 seemed a pretty good bet, as did 2/1 Line bet for Melbourne with a +14 point start against the bulldogs. And finally I put a $5 on West Coast v Adelaide to be within 15 points of each other.

Fingers crossed for the weekend...

Summary

Arsenal to beat Bolton $15
Man U to beat Aston Villa $60FB
Bris-WB-WC-SK $5
Hawks to beat Dockers $5
Melbourne to win, or lose by less than 14 $5
WCE or Adelaide to win by 15 or less $5

Gamblor

Monday, March 24, 2008

Well after a huge hiatus from writing on this blog I have decided to post again. This time its about my latest hobby... betting.

Judd

Last week I decided it was a smart move to bet $50 on Judd for the Brownlow at 13/1 - thinking he was fully fit and would romp it in (and also now that the Eagles have lost him, the least I should be able to do is benefit financially be the loss). So I managed to persuade Claire to go to the TAB for me and put the bet down. Having watched him on Thursday night, I think he is miles away from the fitness levels I expected from him, and as such he is probably already offering better odds this week. That bet will also prove to be a waste of $50 one would think... HOWEVER what this bet did to was give me the bug. The gambling bug.

Life as a gambler begins

Having enjoyed my little wager and the excitement of it all (even if that first bet will take 22 rounds before I know any more) I decided why not spice up my life with a bit of weekly gambling on all things sport. And so I decided to get an online account with Sportsbet.

Week 1 bet

So for my first bet I decided to go on an AFL multi bet. What seemed like the best combo to me was West Coast, Hawks, Bombers and Bulldogs. I thought the bulldogs should fire for Brad Johnsons 300th, Bombers looked great in the preseason, Demons are woeful so the Hawks had the bye, and I have to back the Eagles. The combo was paying 8.5/1 so I put $10 down and waited to see what would happen.

As it happened I was damn lucky with the Bulldogs, the Eagles weren't that convincing, but the Hawks were great so coming into Monday I was sitting pretty with 3 out 3 to that point. Getting a little nervous about the bombers I ended up hedging my bets and placed $15 on the Kangaroos at $1.75. That way I couldn't lose on my first betting weekend. In the end though I needn't have worried as Bombers won pretty comfortabley in the end as did I on my first weekend.

The results

Bet $25
Won $85
Net +$65

So with a decent win on my first week, I'm already excited for next weeks bet... stay tuned!

The Shiny Red Mustang

Tuesday, June 19, 2007 8:37:21 PM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

The Mustang with usWell it amazed me. I am sure it also amazed Claire. And I'm sure it amazes pretty much everyone else, but the other day Claire and I reached 2 years in our relationship. Pretty decent stint really. (It also amazes me that I am updating this web site again - finally!)

So anyway for our anniversary Claire got me a fantastic ring. For her - I got totally smashed the day before at a wine tasting event, starting at 10am, and almost didn't get her a present. Lucky I had already organized another treat for her up my arm.

As a surprise, I managed to organize a full picnic to take Claire out (not bad Clinton, not bad). Better still I arranged for a red convertible Mustang to pick us up. The MustangAnd somehow managed to keep it all a secret. (Though in retrospect this wasn't easy nor was it overly fun, as Claire was pretty much ready to kill me up until midday -  when the Mustang finally arrived -  as she thought I had all but forgot about the anniversary).

So it was great to see the surprised look on Claire's face when we went downstairs and the Mustang was finally there, waiting to take us out for the afternoon. And I was able to avert major damage control.  Michael, our chauffeur for the afternoon, then took us off to the Swan Valley for an afternoon of wine tasting's.

Cruising It was awesome fun to be out in a convertible again (I don't think I have been in one since the good old days when I had my Suzuki Sierra), with the wind blowing through my (well no) hair. We had some classic Dean Martin to set the mood, and the afternoon flew by, with the help of some great wines.

At the end of the time in the Mustang, Michael dropped us off at Kings Park for our picnic, though sadly the weather turned pretty average. So instead we opted for walking home and having a picnic on the lounge floor, but at least we managed to have a great arvo out in the Mustang.

President Clinton

Wednesday, February 21, 2007 9:42:47 PM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Since the great Bill Clinton was President several years ago, I have managed to adopt Pres (or President) as one of about 23 different nicknames that I have. Up until recently this was only a nickname. However I now have the opportunity to tell everyone that I am officially also now known as President Clinton.

An opening recently came up in the Fujitsu Social Club, and having been an avid attender of events and a committee member, when the opportunity to be President of our Social Club came up, I was more than eager to take on this title and role. And being the ever popular and vibrant personality that I am, the social club was very keen (likewise) to have me in this figure head role. So I have now officially taken over as President. President Clinton.

There is currently no Hillary's or Monica's on our list of a few hundred members, but hopefully as time goes by I will be able to lay my own legacy and stories.

Surfing

Wednesday, February 07, 2007 6:44:23 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Many girls out in the world think I am a great surfer. I think many blokes out there think I am also. Truth be told though I am just a great liar. Up until Saturday I had never surfed - never even been in the water with a surfboard. Sure I used a body board for many years but never the standing up variety. But now, after years and years of spinning yarns about my surfing prowess I can now say I am a surfer.

Surfer ClintonOn Friday night Claire and I headed up to Lancelin with Gerg and Kate for a weekend away, and come Saturday morning with a nice warm day ahead we headed down to the beach for a day of surfing. Gerg went over the basics with me (get on a wave then stand up) and we hit the water. It was pretty darn frustrating trying to stand up. The first 30 minutes was spent getting up to my knees - turns out I could be a great knee boarder - before Gerg gave me another piece of advice: don't use your knees, just stand straight up.

And so after about an hour of trying I was able to catch a wave, stand up on the board, and cruise on the wave for a good few seconds standing up. It was awesome. I felt like a God. My New Years resolution of 2004 was achieved. My ambition to be a surfer was achieved. In fact it was one of my proudest moments...

I spent the next few hours mastering the sport. I probably managed to catch about 10 waves in total standing up. By my final wave I was standing there saluting the crowd that had gathered watching me from the beach (Claire). Plus I had realised how addictive catching waves is. Sure I was using an oversize 7'10 board which was pretty buoyant - but hey, I reckon it was pretty darn good.

So now that I have the bug, look out for me at your local beach. And I mean look out for me because I probably will run you over. I have several bruises and cuts and bumps from where I ran myself over...

Elevator Musings

Tuesday, January 23, 2007 11:06:11 PM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Recently, I seem to have spent a lot of time in elevators. I ride in elevators at work - and at the moment I am switching between 2 buildings, and I ride in an elevator every morning and every night in my apartment.

I am not especially a patient person, and as such have never been a massive fan of elevators as basically they are a room you are stuck in for a given amount of time which you can't control. And the more people that catch the elevator, generally the worse the ride, as it means stopping at more floors, and ultimately more time spent in a small, confined space with people you don't really wish to.

HOWEVER, one thing that I do enjoy about elevators is listening into other people's conversations. Today I overheard a more interesting than usual conversation between a couple of co-workers which involved both the Australian Open and Daylight Saving.

Basically the bloke in the elevator was very angry at the fact that the Australian Open is delayed every night by 2 hours. Now I totally agree with this anger. This is one thing that has always bothered me about living on the West coast of Australia is the fact that we get alot of sport delayed due to lazy network stations.

His co-worker replied that she assumed this was due to the fact that they probably didn't want to replace 'Home and Away' or something similar. Not a bad point, I guess.

However from about this point I think the conversation took an interesting turn. The bloke then said that the reason for the delay was because of daylight savings. He said that he didn't like daylight savings, and it annoyed him because shows like the tennis (which he enjoyed) were not shown live.

BUT, in order to solve this problem he had heard that they were considering moving the Australian Open later in the year. He said that by moving it to July we would then get the tennis live, as daylight saving would be over by then, and he could enjoy the tennis. Plus it would be on at a similar time of the year as Wimbledon and the French Open so it would just make sense.

Great point Einstein. Don't mind the fact that there wouldn't be any tennis because it would be raining all the time. Don't mind the fact that the tennis has always been delayed - even when there wasn't daylight saving. Don't mind the fact that tennis is a summer sport, and that July is in the middle of winter so when they were talking of moving it later in the year they were talking a couple of weeks later, not months! Don't mind the fact that daylight savings has not what so ever made any shows delayed any more - its actually less. Don't mind the fact that you are a complete moron!

And with so many smart people like this bloke out in the community I fear that my much loved daylight saving may still struggle yet to ever get voted in.

Still, at least I got to have a laugh in the lift today...

Welcome to the new ClintonCherry.com

Wednesday, January 17, 2007 9:51:47 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Well I think I have just about finished the migration of the old site to the new site. I know I haven't posted much for the past 12 months, and alot of that was because I generally needed a break. It was also because it was getting 'too' hard to make a post. So what I have done is upgraded all the engines that run this website to use commercial software (which I have customised) as opposed to previously which was all custom written by myself. This now gives me the ability to leverage heaps of applications out there that other people have written, but more importantly enables me to be able to write articles on my desktop (rather than via a web interface) which is way easier to do. And I think I will keep them all a lot briefer too.

So this is my first resolution for 2007 achieved - getting this website back up and running again.
Number 2 is to make sure that I update this at least weekly - and I am going to mix it up a bit more now - it won't just be articles about how drunk I got on the weekend - I am going to try and throw in anything interesting I find, see or listen to... stay tuned...

(oh and this is my first post using Windows Live Writer which will even post a little note at the end of every posting with the song I am currently listening to... not that anyone really cares but hey!)

I'm currently rocking out to Everything I'm Not by The Veronicas from the album The Secret Life of the Veronicas

St Paddy's day

Monday, March 18, 2002 11:36:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

What was meant to be a relaxing quietish weekend turned out to be quite busy in the end. Friday was quiet watching cricket but the pace all lifted a notch Saturday arvo when I headed to Mark's to watch him go the big chop (like Greg and Me on Friday). Entertaining arvo then lead to Lizzie's 21st over in Sorrento which was a cool affair including dancing into the night to Roxette and Bon Jovi on the Jukebox! Photos will be up Tuesday. Finally late in the night I headed to Andre's party for the wind down before walking home around 3 (which took over an hour - silly move Clint)

Sunday and Kate's housewarming party ended up bigger than expected. After some jelly shots and a few beers from the keg everyone was fired up, so later in the night Glenn, Kat, Hayley and me headed to Novaks and Rosies in the city for St Pats festivities. Heaps of fun except coming to work today. Now the countdown begins to tonights big event: Wrestlemania 18!

Almost Dry weekend

Monday, February 18, 2002 10:42:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Gordon
YAWNER OF THE WEEK: Zap. No bachelor this week, but this kid has proved a weeks work will kill him. Basically slept standing up all weekend and proved one of the most boring people after a hard weeks work!
Well after a bender down at the Breaky on Wednesday the weekend was destined to be quiet. Drove into Spirit Soundbar on Friday night for Zora's birthday which was all fun (including giving Zap shit who was virtually sleeping standing up) until at 1:30am I discovered my car locked up in the carpark. After a taxi ride home, a couple hours sleep, then a trip back into town I found the carpark still locked. So wasted time in Macca's and at the Bell tower before finally getting mum's car back.

Spent Saturday getting burnt on Jack's boat and enjoying a surprising eagles victory and even more surprising announcement of Ponting as captain (I'm sure your happy Simon). Saturday night and a couple of quiet drinks at Novaks (this place rocks - I recommend it to everyone) and then onto Taipan which was better than expected. Again at Novaks got to watch Zap almost fall asleep then suddenly come to life when the music started, then fall asleep, then wake...)

Finally a quiet Sunday doing nothing but celebrating Australia's first ever Gold in Winter Olympics (oh and wasted more time watching footy on Fox - this will be death of me). And to all you punk fans make sure you come to Millencolin on Thursday night.

Just another weekend

Gordon
BACHELOR OF THE WEEK: Andre. It would be a tragedy not to honour one of the greats in this area...
One of the more alcohol reduced weekends just gone by. Friday night went into the Casino with Age and the gang to check out the Ruby Room. As predicted only weeks ago by the staff here popularity is starting to wane at the club, with the place less the 3 quarters full. Mind you at the same time it was enjoyable with the smoke free environment and lots of dressed up good looking people. Plus Age taught me how to play Craps which is a bundle of fun -  I recommend it to any of you budding gamblers.

Saturday night and time to hit the town with this week's BOW (bachelor of the week) and Pete. Went to the Aberdeen which was pretty good fun, including some impressive bottle spinning behind the bar, before going out after to what can only be described as one of the "less quality" night clubs after.

Sunday and the weekend ended with Clinton putting in another drive - this time down to the Cott. Good to see the line is not nearly as early or bad there at the moment, and a bit more room for soaking up the sun at the end of the weekend.

Big Day Out 2002

Gordon
BACHELOR OF THE WEEK (is back) and this week we honour Gordon!
He's a regular on cc.com who I'm sure all the girls out there drool over...
I've said it once and I'll say it again... What a weekend! Thought I might take it quiet until the Big Day Out last Sunday, but that didn't happen... Friday night went to the Irish Club for Fiona and Karoake which all started well, until Age and Glenn and the gang started firing up shooters. Night went pretty much down hill from there on (and onto the Red Sea). Apologies to all! Albiet I do remember stealing Hayley's shoe and sort of navigating my way home in between falling asleep about a dozen times.

Very queit Saturday spent mostly in the spa, but also checking out a hot skateboard flick at the Luna (Dogtown & Z-boys - check it out)

Sunday and the BIG DAY OUT rocked on again. As usual bloody hot, heaps of fun and heaps of photos here on the site. Garbage was the surprise packet for me for the day spilling out a brilliant set, along with New Order and Magic Dirt all really impressing. I am still exhausted and recovering from the day, but it was all totally worth it - here's looking forward to 2003!

Greg still missing

Monday, January 21, 2002 9:25:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Greg with Tom

LOST!

Huge Friday night for Shazza's 21st really  punished me on Saturday. Went to Minsky's along with Kathryn and the Victorian girls, then Saphire where I was "made" to drink chartreuce and subsequently burned the hell out of my throat when I saw it again! That totally punished me for the next day, so a quiet night was spent up at Kev Hoy's for his birthday and an early 11 o'clock night.

Sunday and the Cott was cranking and I was in great form, after having the easy Saturday night. Next week is sure to crank up another notch with the long weekend.

On a more serious and sad note, Greg is still missing, and all the staff here at cc.com pledge to anyone who has seen him or know of his where abouts to post on the website. Lets hope he is still safe. He is pictured to the left with his best mate, and this is the last known photo we now have of Greg. Please Help!

Back to the real world

Tuesday, January 15, 2002 11:22:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Well back into the real world last week and it wasn't easy to get back into the swing of things, let alone with the friggin problems that I have had with cc.com. But don't worry I think it is all fixed now and everything should be sweet. Write me an email if you find something not working tho!

Friday night was pretty crazy out with Jack and Age and off to the Up Bar for a party. Bloody Age got me into the shooters and that pretty much hurt me. I'll leave the stories for that night about there. Saturday night was over to Belly's house and a great night with a couple of kegs and more tequila. I'm sorry I didn't bring my camera there because everyone was in great cc.com form, with most of the party going home covered in texta and clintoncherry.com written on them. Finally Sunday saw my 2002 debut at the Cott and another great night down there, tho it was damn hot.

Greg Married

Greg and KateWell, the silly season is over and Greg is now a married man. Sorry to all you fans of Greg's Goss who fantasized about one day marrying the man behind the news, but Greg and Kate were married last Saturday. The reception was a crazy affair, with everyone really getting into the festivities - even a bit of greek sausage was there!

However, the downside to getting next to no sleep on Saturday night was ending the Cott streak on Sunday. So after 18 magic weeks, 2002 has started a little more miserably on that front.

Tons of photos are been added to the website as I speak, so catch a look at all the fun from the Perth Cup through to the boys in Rotto, and of course Greg's wedding.

The Silly Season Part 2.

Tuesday, January 01, 2002 2:09:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Honourary Bachelor of the Week.
No competition this week as we see Greg a bachelor for one final time...

Silly Season (Update)
Christmas eve was a fun busy one down at the Red Rock, with the boys all out Merry for a Christmas drink. Christmas was just as much fun drinking up all day in the spa and catching up with family and friends.

Then boxing day and over to Rotto with the boys for 3 days of sun, drinking and general mayhem. Sorry boys, can't get the photos up until next week, but none the less I'm sure the stories are quickly spreading through the camp about what went on over there - with Piramelli's half bottle skull of Tequila no doubt been a shining moment in his drinking career.

Greg's bucks on Saturday night was another nuts event with 40 drunk guys and the usual mayhem you expect from a bucks - of course you won't read about it here but photos and footage may appear down the track...

Finally Sunday found Cott number 18 in a row, and the final for the year, with amazingly CC putting in a drive. Well wish you all well for New Years Eve and the New Year - expect more update soon and until then HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

No competition this week as we see Greg a bachelor for one final time...

The silly season is really upon us, and as such means more craziness, fun, drinking and "happy snaps" for the website. Unfortunately it may mean a few less articles and updates on the site over the next week or two.

The silly season really started with a bang at the Red Rock on Thursday night. Friday was an easy day at work finishing up for 2 weeks, and ultimately leading to an arvo in Greg's spa, before heading into the very dissappointing Wembley. This place has refurbished itself for the worse, replacing nice floor with blue painted cement, bright fluorescent lights throughout the building and the type of furniture you'd expect in a bingo hall. Sadly the crowd seemed to be suffering as well, as what looks like to be the end of the Wembley.

Saturday night and into The Red Sea for a night of carving up the dance floor before getting home not too late to prepare for the BIG sunday sess. at the cott. Arrived down at the Cott around 3:20 and the line was already in formation. Half of Perth enjoyed a beautiful arvo in the sun, with the cc.com camera going crazy and a ton of shots available for your enjoyment here, of everyone from the hen's thru to just general drunks. Thanks to the girls who drove us boys down to the Lookout to end the night and also to Mr. Cook who got out of bed to come and pick us up from Scarbs.

Well thats the start of the silly season, with xmas, Boxing day, Rotto, Greg's bucks, New Years Eve and Perth Cup to come over the next 9 days. Here's hoping I'll be back soon with more laughs, stories and photos...

Xmas Parties

Well I think for most of us the weekend was spent going to Xmas parties in all their different forms. Friday was staff work party with Jean getting the magoo prize for not being able to open his eyes at all after a small stint at Ben and Christies house. Saturday night and onto Plugga xmas party followed by Kane and Forro's xmas bash. Photo's should be up soon, suffice to say half of the boys were dead by the time I got to Forro's place after an entire day in the sun fishing and drinking.

The usual Sunday was spent at that spot along the coast I've been now going to for 16 weeks in a row. Stayed till stumps with the boys and had another kick ass night, with a great display on the dance floor - highlighted by Paz dancing with the "hottest" chick there (not) and winning the award this week for bachelor of the week.

lovey

Honourary Bachelor of the Week.
After criticism from regular readers of not enough recognition, I have this week named Brett Love our special guest star

Not a bad weekend. Lookout was pretty average on Friday night after quite a layoff of not been there. Saturday was a late start (actually didn't get moving until 12:30 am which sort of makes it Sunday) before heading into subi for the first time in ages. Red Sea and Saphire rocked on until walked outside and realised the darn sun was up - pretty much writing off Sunday until the sess at the Cott. After an anxious 20 minutes loitering out the front near a massive line, managed to weasle our way in for number 15 in a row.

The real death of me this weekend though was Foxtel. After having it installed last week have spent hours upon hours of mindless time watching channel V and numerous mindless tv shows. Rock on Foxtel and channel 14 the "AFL" channel.

Finally for any old school digger fans I now have the game running on my website here...

Davis Cup disappointment

Wednesday, December 05, 2001 9:54:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Well the biggest weekend in quite some time for all has come to an end. On the sporting side of things the weekend was some what of a disappointment, with the aussies losing the Davis Cup in dramatic style and the Test cricket team in all sorts of trouble at the WACA.

But musically and alcoholically the weekend definitely stood up. Hoodoo Gurus, Unwritten Law, Gatecrasher and Section 26 all proving to be huge weekend events with stories/reviews for them all available on this site. Photos from Zap and the boys first gig (section 26) are now here.

And finally Rea you are a dead man for publically humiliating me on my 14th trip down the cott. Apologies to all who were there...

Soccer really sucks

Saturday, December 01, 2001 2:30:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

This weekend revolved around the massive party that was Tim Horgan's 21st. Definitely one of the biggest (and for many drunkest) partys of the year spanning almost 12 hours.

Photos now up

Bakers Dozen (13) at the cott and a surprise return by Andrea, all the way from Europe to go in the run for consecutive weeks...

The real loser for the weekend was sport though with washed out cricket, crap soccer and an AFL draft that wasn't telecast at all. Here's looking to a big weekend next week with all sorts of events coming up in the fun capital Perth such as the cricket, hoodoo gurus, unwritten law and gatecrasher (for the dance fans like Greg)

For obvious reasons pretty mellow weekend, but still managed to clock up 'legs' 11 at the cott, as I continue to build an unassailable lead over block rock who has tumbled down to only 1 week in a row - bloody good weather as well.

Finally, due to been stuck to the couch at the mo you can probably expect a few more DVD reviews as I work my way through thousands...
...and good luck to all doing exams (ha ha)

Another kick ass weekend, starting on Saturday at about 7am, heading over to Cookie's for early beers before heading off on his first annual ambrose golf day. John Howard's team ended up winning the tournament after a 5 way playoff on the extra hole. (Photos here)

Back to Cookie's house for more beers before ending up at the Craic (photos here) where John boy again managed to keep up his winning style, getting the first entrance into the cc.com competition, with the band announcing "clintoncherry.com" during their set.

Ended the weekend with week no. 10 (double digits) at the Cott. Nice day and good fun as always, and Blocky again faltered failing to make an appearance, and apparently hanging out at the white sands.

Jebediah rock on

Tuesday, October 30, 2001 2:07:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Weekend started early with guttermouth and one dollar short kicking ass last Thursday (more..), which sort of left Friday as a quiet night after going it pretty hard on a week night.

Saturday and happy birthday Stone cold "Steve" "block rock" Bloxame's, with Age as usual being the star attraction. Some how he managed to beat a 750ml bottle of Tequila and the pool before conceding an early night. I personally headed on to northbridge to face all of Ben's mates in the gay mardi gras, which soon got pretty messy.

Then of course there was Sunday and what a fine day to chalk up my 9th consecutive week at the cott after watching Jebediah's cd launch at 78's (more...). The Cott just keeps getting better, and I'm definitely getting the camera out again soon. The only thing they gotta change is that sword bouncer who continually seems to out do himself  week by week on proving what a bunch of tools him and his mates are.

Jebediah rock on

Monday, October 29, 2001 12:07:00 PM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Weekend started early with guttermouth and one dollar short kicking ass last Thursday (more..), which sort of left Friday as a quiet night after going it pretty hard on a week night.

John Howards 21st

A tribute to John Howell
This week we dedicate the photos site to a special boy (and our publicist)...

What a weekend!

Friday night headed down the Looksy with Sparks, only to find a stupid long line as early as 10:30pm. Lucky we pushed in and got in within about 30 too many minutes, before having to pay to get in (this is a pub isn't it?).

Not a bad warm up for John "Howell" Howards 21st on Saturday night which had the camera out in full swing as the boys knocked back beers and squishy's against a torrid backdrop of a night.

Sunday and the crap weather kept up, but against all odds, and with numerous encouraging phone calls from John Howard, CC Chesalenko managed to fire up and headed down the cott for consectutive week number 8, while Blocky dropped out of the race after citing injury problems...

Usual weekend madness

Wednesday, October 10, 2001 5:18:00 AM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Another weekend, another Friday night at the Lookout... wasn't too bad with a huge crowd and the usual mayhem, but of course the weekend is always best ended with fantastic weather on a Sunday and a trip down the Cott. As expected the crowds are growing by the week, with another huge line, which means get there early or don't get there. Our roving photographer Munno managed to take a million and one photos which should be up on the site tomorrow. Special thanks to everyone who left me behind to find my own way home.

Monday, September 24, 2001 11:07:00 PM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

East Perth Premiers 2001.
That pretty much sums up a fantastic weekend in sport, along with Australia, led by the brilliant Hewitt, earning a spot in the Davis Cup final, with a brilliant 4-1 defeat of Sweden in the Tennis.

Congratulations East Perth: Back to back, with Turnball putting on a great display to win best on ground distinctions!

The war begins...

Friday, September 21, 2001 10:44:00 PM (W. Australia Standard Time, UTC+08:00)

Well, Bush has made his speech and the war on terrorism officially begins. Personally I believe this is only going to make things worse, prompting more crazy attacks on the US and the like.

On a better note the Davis Cup begins today, with Australia looking to secure a finals spot, with their battle against Sweden. Finally, the last WAFL war begins tomorrow, with hopefully East Perth the victors in an epic battle over South Freo!

Damn sanity didn't prevail and the eagles say goodbye to Judge, after hardly giving him a go. I blame sponsors and the WAFC.
